NEWSLETTER

    September 2009

Fellow Snow Slickers;

Well here we are ready to start another snow season and our equipment is in the best shape ever. All of the groomers have been heavily serviced over the off season, from replacing the drive cogs and boggy wheels to a windshield on the small BR. But all three of the groomers will be ready to hit the trails when the snow finally falls. Speaking of trails we have been really busy on them as well. Just last month we set a brand new bridge in Pawtuckaway State Park on the Fundy Trail. It was also really our first workout for our new Massey Fergusen tractor. Let me tell you folks that this tractor has been a great asset to the club already. We have also fitted it with a Samurai brush cutter. This is another great asset to the club. We are able to cut back the brush in record time.

However with all this fancy equipment we will need one more key ingredient to finish the trail work for this year-YOU. The weather has not been all that kinsd to us trail wise. Heavy storm damage has eroded the trail and broken trees. We still have numerous trees down in both parks that will need to be cleared before our fancy groomers can work their majic. The downed trees though will not go to waste. We will use it to heat the clubhouse during the various functions we have planned. But we still need you to help get it back to the Clubhouse. We have included Dave Labbes work party schedule so hopefully you will be able to make at least one of them. Watch the Website and our E-Mail blasts from Steve Lord.

On the lighter side we will be hosting a Pig Roast during our October 24th Open House. Come on in renew your membership register the machines and enjoy some pig with trimmings. We are also trying to schedule up some ATV demo rides with one of the local dealers. This is still being worked on so watch for the e-mails for details. We will also be hosting two Open Houses that you will be able to renew your memberships and registrations. Check out the Clubs Social Calendar in this article.

Ray Philibotte will be managing the 200 Club again this year. For $20 you will be eligible for the weekly drawings of $10,$15, and $25 and an end of season drawing of $100, $250, and $500. You are eligible to be a winner once each week so you could win lots of money. All proceeds benefit the trail sign efforts.

The Snow Show committee has been hard at work during the summer to pull together yet again a mind blowing event. We are working on getting all manufactureres represented as well as many local vendors and dealers from winter apparel to keep you warm to a place to stay to rest after a great day of riding. Committee meetings are the second Monday of the month at 7pm at the club house. Contact Steve Lord for more information.

The electronic key card dydtem is operational this year. Many of you know of the difficulties we have had in the past but we have taken measures to ensure a smooth season. So now is the time to renew your membership to again enjoy the use of the club gated parking lot and warm club house. Also we request that you bring your access cards when you attend any of the functions so they can be verified as functional. The cards are an electronic device and therefore can fail which will be replaced at no cost to you. We are also working on keeping the kitchen open this season. So watch for details. Volunteers are always welcome.

So you see we have been busy and will be busy until the snow falls. Lets all hope it will be another banner snow season. See you on the trails
