October 2009
Hello Snowslickers;
First of all I want to ask all of you to join the club as soon as possible. We can use the money for operating expenses at this time of the year and you will be all set to join in on the fun we have in store for the season. Our new tractor has been busy on the trails all fall and it has really worked out great.
We are getting very close to the Snowmobile and ATV Winter Expo and Steve Lord the Coordinator of the Show needs as many volunteers as possible. You will be contacted and be asked to help.
The 200 Club is off and running but sales have lagged a bit, but it is still early and not too late to purchase a ticket. They will be on sale at the General Membership Meeting this Monday.
The 2009-2010 Club Ride Schedule is posted on the Web Site and now is the time to start planning which rides you would like to go on. Remember to check the expanded Ride chart found on the Web Site it gives the details and general rules of the rides.
The Annual Pittsburg club trip is still not sold out to my knowledge. Please contact Jack Langridge and sign up. They again will have a dinner Saturday evening hosted by the Pittsburg Ridge Runners. You will have to make reservations for the dinner as the Ridge Runners need a head count. There will be rides all week long as some members are going up early and some will no doubt stay later it is a holiday weekend. Jack will be at the meeting this Monday October 19th and you can talk to him about the weekend then.
We are planning an Easter Seals ride beginning from the Club House this year, anyone interested in going please see Ray Philibotte after the meeting Monday night he will explain all the details. There will be an overnighter in the notch area on Thursday night.
The Trail Masters Meeting is scheduled for Saturday November 21, 2009. Location is still a mystery as of this Newsletter. If you interested in going please submit your name at the meeting.
The Key Card system is now operational. One misconception is that members think its not working because they cannot get into the building. The gate is the only access the members have until the snow flies. The clubhouse will be activated only when the snow season begins December 15th 2009.
Our annual Safety Course is scheduled for Sunday December 6, 2009 from 9am to 4pm. Pizza will be provided as usual and a parent is required. Brynn and Sue Rugg are again the class instructors for the course.
Grooming starts on December 15th 2009 with 8 or more inches of snow. Dave Labbe will be having a Groomer Training Meeting along with the anticipated Schedule for the winter season.
The Trail Work Parties are in full swing and work on Several Bridges in Pawtuckaway State Park are progressing rapidly. If you would like to help please go to the message board and check out Dave Labbes article on the party. The Trail Sign work parties are also progressing nicely and any help is appreciated. Also go to the Message Board for all the info on these work parties
